Iraq considers the attacks on Syria a “dangerous act” and calls for a political solution

Ministry spokesman Ahmed Mahjoub said in a statement, a copy of which was received by the (INA), that “the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses its concern about the air strike carried out by the United States of America and some of its allies on neighboring Syria, and considers this behavior a very dangerous matter because of its repercussions on innocent citizens.” Mahjoub added, “The Foreign Ministry stresses the necessity of a political solution that meets the aspirations of the Syrian people, and that such an action would drag the region into dangerous repercussions that threaten its security and stability and give terrorism a new opportunity to expand after it was defeated in Iraq and has greatly declined in Syria. It is noteworthy that, at dawn today, Saturday (April 14, 2018), the United States, France, and Britain launched air strikes on a number of Syrian sites, before the US Department of Defense announced the end of the air strikes, indicating that more strikes would be launched based on the nature of the Syrian response.
