Iraq discusses with Korea methods of smart cultivation of tomatoes and rice and advanced storage systems

Today, Sunday, Minister of Agriculture Abbas Jabr Al-Maliki discussed with a company delegation CREATE South Korean, smart cultivation methods for tomatoes and rice and advanced storage systems.

The ministry said in a statement, received by the (INA): “Minister of Agriculture Abbas Jabr al-Maliki chaired a meeting today with a delegation from the Iraqi… CREATE South Korea, headed by (Quink – Sek Jan) to discuss methods of smart cultivation of tomatoes and rice and advanced storage systems, in the presence of the Advisor to the Prime Minister Hussein Al-Wasiti, the Administrative Undersecretary of the Ministry Mahdi Sahar Al-Jubouri, the Advisor Mahdi Damad Al-Qaisi, and a number of general directors and specialists in agricultural affairs.

She added, “Al-Maliki listened to an explanation provided by members of the company delegation about the technologies used in modern smart agriculture, used in Korea and a number of other countries, and the reasons and details of their use, as they depend on an automatic system through which temperatures and quantities of water can be controlled, especially in the production of fruit and vegetable crops, and it is distinguished by its It reduces effort and contains a special system for fertilization, storage, and use of water,” noting that “the Minister also listened to the attendees’ interventions, which centered around the seeds used, the costs of this method, its environmental impacts, and the scientific aspect adopted in production.”

He continued, “The delegation touched on the issue of developing varieties of rice resistant to conditions of lack of water and drought, and the possibility of cooperation in this field, similar to other countries.”

Al-Maliki expressed “the readiness to cooperate with the Korean delegation in the fields of producing vegetable and fruit crops, as well as the field of rice and storage systems after studying the economic feasibility, as well as reviewing the experiences taking place in the field of smart agriculture, and sending a special delegation for the purpose of training,” stressing “continuing preparation and communication with the Korean delegation.” For the purpose of strengthening the role of the agricultural sector and benefiting from scientific experiments and transferring them to the field agricultural reality in the country.”
