Director Rajamouli’s son has given an explanation regarding reports that Rs 80 crore was spent on RRR’s Oscar promotion. Accordingly, he said that he did not spend Rs.80 crore for the promotion, but only Rs.8.5 crore was spent.

Oscar winning RRR:

The Oscar award ceremony, which is considered the highest award in the world cinema, was recently held in the city of Los Angeles, USA. In this, in the best song from India category, a country song featured in the film RRR was selected and created history. Lyricist Chandrabhosum and music composer Keeravani also received the award for this. In this way, the director of that film did not get a free pass at a moment when India became directly proud.

RRR team who bought paid tickets:

Rajamouli, his wife Rama Rajamouli, their son, daughter-in-law, actor Ram Charan’s wife, actor Jr. NTR’s wife, all paid tickets separately and watched the Oscar ceremony as they did not get free admission. It was reported that the price of each ticket bought by them was about 25 thousand US dollars which is about Rs.20.6 lakh in Indian value. In addition to this, it was also reported that the film crew spent up to Rs.80 crores for the special screenings of the RRR film organized in certain cities of America and the promotion work of the film.

Is the ticket price Rs.20.6 lakh?

In this case, Karthikeya, who is the son of director Rajamouli and who has undertaken the promotion work of RRR’s film in anticipation of the Oscar award, has explained how much was spent for the promotion of RRR’s film.

Talking about this, he said, “It is true that the film crew bought the tickets for the show. But there is no price for spreading it on social media. MM Keeravani, Chandra Bose, Jr. NTR, Ram Charan, Kala Bhairava, Rahul Chiplingunj and Prem Rakshit got the official call. However, as per Academy rules, only the awardee and one family member were given a free pass to attend the event. Because of this, other people from the film crew bought tickets. Their prices range from 700 to 1500 dollars per person, i.e. 57 thousand to 1.2 lakh rupees in Indian currency,” he said.

Did we spend Rs.80 crore?

“Similarly, reports are spreading that 80 crore rupees have been spent on the promotion of the film. But actually we had planned to complete the promotion work at Rs.5 crore, but it cost up to Rs.8.5 crore,” explained Karthikeya.
