Doha: Amidst the conflict with Hezbollah and Iran, Arab countries have now given a big blow to Israel. Arab countries met in Doha this week to reassure Iran that they will remain neutral in the conflict between Tehran and Israel. Arab countries expressed concern that an increase in conflict in the region could threaten their oil facilities. This is being seen as a blow to Israel, because earlier in April, Arab countries had supported Israel during Iran’s attack.
Iran’s biggest attack on Israel
News agency Reuters has given this information quoting two sources. Sources said that the ministers of Gulf Arab countries and Iran, who participated in the meeting of Asian countries organized by Qatar, focused their mutual talks around reducing tension. On Tuesday (October 1) this week, Iran launched its biggest attack on Israel so far.
Tehran had described it as revenge for the killing of senior leaders of Israel’s Hamas and Hezbollah and Israeli operations in Gaza and Lebanon. On Friday, October 4, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in his speech, described a missile attack on Israel as ‘the least punishment’.
Threat of Israeli retaliation
However, Tehran has said that it has ended its attack but will be targeted again if Israel takes any provocative action. At the same time, Israel has promised to give a strong response to the Iranian attack. US media reports say Israel may target oil production facilities inside Iran in retaliation.
Reuters quoted a source as saying that the issue of reducing tension is at the top of all the discussions taking place at the moment. Although Iran has not threatened to attack Gulf oil facilities, it has warned that its interests in the region would be targeted if there is direct intervention in support of Israel.
