Israeli Cinema Day is back. And he has movies for 10 shekels for you

by time news

It may be our favorite holiday: Israeli Cinema Day is back. This celebration of Israeli art has become a big crowd-puller in recent years, mainly thanks to the attractive pricing of the tickets at ten shekels. Cinema Day will be celebrated this year on March 22 in Baal movie theaters across the country, will mark 75 years of Israeli cinematic creation and will be dedicated to the memory of the late Haim Topol.

This year, on Film Day, 39 films from the best of Israeli cinema will be screened, including all Ophir award winners, some of them in premiere screenings and all of them, as mentioned, for only 10 shekels per ticket. Among the films you can find some of the best Israeli films of the last year: “Valeria Gets Married”, “The Road to Eilat”, “Good Guys”, “Karaoke” and “Virgins”, and blockbusters such as “Ola LeRash” and “Humous Paul Trailer”. In addition, no fewer than 14 new films will be premiered: “Valeria Gets Married”, “Nobody’s Children”, “Grains of Sand”, “The Road to Eilat”, “Relocation”, “The Flower Gate”, “Heal Longings”, ” The swimmer”, “My fat friend”, “The other city”, “How did you let this happen”, “The gospel according to Judah” and “The good soul”.

Against the background of the expected politicization of film funds and its effect on film creation in Israel, this year’s Israeli Film Day is being held in the shadow of the coup d’état, and the rift is penetrating into it, when in a statement to the media the agent of chaos in charge of the dismantling of culture, Miki Zohar, insists on waving an “emphasized presence” of the Israeli Film Day in the territories of Judea and Samaria that are not under the sovereignty of the state. On the other hand, we always wanted Israeli cinema to succeed abroad. Go see Israeli cinema.
