Israelis have created a startup that can be used to determine the number of microbes contained in a piece of meat. If their number increases rapidly, the sticker changes color.
The publication NoCamels talks about this.
The startup was founded in Ashkelon four years ago and is called BioTip. The sensor that determines whether the meat is spoiled or not is presented in the form of a sticker. By its color you can determine whether the product is suitable for consumption.
The researchers noted that hundreds of thousands of people suffer from food poisoning every year due to stale food, particularly meat that, for example, expires earlier than stated on the packaging. The sensor will help reduce this problem. When there is too much bacteria in a product, the sticker changes color from blue to transparent and from green to yellow.
Israeli developers want to improve their technology a little so that the sticker also warns buyers that the product is about to spoil, so it needs to be prepared soon.
It is noted that the startup is now being tested in the United States and at the same time at one of the large food industry enterprises in Israel.
“Cursor” wrote earlier that Israeli researchers have developed a mobile application called TrainPain, which can be used to combat chronic body pain. This startup will soon be operational in one of our HMOs.
