The runner Filippo Ganna from Ineos Grenadiers, was the fastest in the Valladolid time trial and ended the drought of Italian runners by winning a time trial in La Vuelta, which had not happened since 2014 with Adriano Malori.

“This time trial was perfect for me. I was lucky with the weather and the straights worked well for me. After winning a time trial at the Giro, this is a dream come true for me. Today I can say that I managed to win a time trial in the Vuelta” pointed out the Italian time trial champion.

He also added “I am super happy”, he expresses while outlining a smile on his face and continues: “I am going to enjoy this for the next two weeks. At the same time we will try to get another stage win, we have worked hard for G in the last few weeks, but now there will be some space.” he ends, showing the clear intentions of Ineos, to fight for partial victories leaving aside the general classification.
