The Cabinet Committee on Law and Order has recommended extending the Eid-ul-Fitr holiday by one day.

After the meeting of the cabinet committee on law and order at the secretariat on Sunday (March 31), the president of the committee, the minister for liberation war affairs, AKM Mozammel Haque, gave this information.

He said that it has been recommended to extend the Eid holiday by one day to go home on Eid. The recommendations of the committee will be presented in the Cabinet meeting tomorrow.

The minister said, according to the holiday calendar, the 9th is open. That is why it has been recommended whether we can hold office on the previous Saturday (by closing on April 9).

Mozammel Haque said, ‘Tomorrow a recommendation will be sent to the government regarding the holiday, whether it can be extended by one day or not! So that people can travel smoothly. A recommendation will go to the Cabinet whether April 9 can be covered as a holiday or not. There is a cabinet meeting tomorrow and a recommendation of this committee is going to that meeting.

The minister said that if necessary, the bank can provide facilities by keeping the workers’ salaries open for a long time and also on the closing days, so that there is no dissatisfaction among the workers. The home minister will meet with the owners tomorrow and take action in this regard so that whatever is due to the workers is paid on time.’

Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festival of Muslims, will be celebrated in the country on April 10 or 11, depending on the sighting of the moon. However, since Ramadan is 30 days and Eid-ul-Fitr is on April 11, the government has fixed Eid holidays on April 10, 11 and 12. Before this, there is a holiday of Shab Qadr on April 7. Office open on 8th and 9th April after Shabae Qadr holiday.
