According to the latest government decree, in fact, the passage of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Molise and Sardinia should take place on Tuesday 1 June, but it is possible that it will be brought forward. Then, from 7 June, Abruzzo, Veneto and Liguria will follow. “With yesterday’s agreement (Wednesday, ed), some Italian regions will be in the white zone as early as Monday next week”, says Mariastella Gelmini, minister of regional affairs.
White zone, no curfew but masks: rules
In the white zone, no curfew but the obligation to mask and distance remains. Reopening is anticipated. This is what is foreseen in the agreement between the Ministry of Health and the Regions on the rules to be applied in the bracket with the lowest level of Covid risk. The measures emerge from the meeting on Wednesday between the Minister of Health Roberto Speranza who said he was “satisfied” with the agreement (“There is the awareness that prudence and gradualness are still needed”, he stressed) and the president of the Conference of Regions Massimiliano Fedriga, which was also attended by Giovanni Rezza, general director of Prevention of the Ministry of Health, and Silvio Brusaferro, president of the Higher Institute of Health. These guidelines will be incorporated in a forthcoming ordinance by the minister, reports the Ministry of Health in a note. “The obligation to wear a mask remains – he added – but it is a gradual return to normality. Everyone is not free, precautions remain, but thanks to the reduction of infections and the number of victims and the success of the vaccination campaign, we are going in a good direction “.
The shared proposal provides that – without prejudice to the basic criteria of prevention, masks, spacing, ventilation and sanitation of closed places -, once a Region enters the white zone, the so-called ‘curfew’ is exceeded and can be anticipated at the time of passage the reopening of economic and social activities for which the current legislation already provides for the resumption of activities at a later time. The reference for carrying out the activities – the note details – is that of the ‘Guidelines for the reopening of economic and social activities’, adopted by the Conference of Regions and Autonomous Provinces and the other protocols.
Incidences of less than 50 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants: this is where
The decline in the weekly incidence continues throughout Italy which, from 21 to 27 May, stood at 46 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants compared to 66 last week. According to the estimates published by Quotidiano Sanità, Friuli Venezia Giulia with 17, Sardinia with 13 and Molise with 12 record for the third consecutive week a weekly incidence of less than 50 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants and for this reason they will pass from yellow to white from 31 May. In the same vein, white from 7 June if the data were to be confirmed, followed by Abruzzo with 35, Liguria and Umbria with 28, Veneto with 30.
Even Lazio, Lombardy, Piedmont, Trento, Puglia and Emilia Romagna for the first time also recorded a weekly incidence of less than 50 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants and for this reason if they were to confirm the data in the next two monitoring from 14 June they too would reach the white zone.
