The Minister of Industrial Development, Trade, Crafts and SMEs, Serge Gnaniodem Poda, chaired on Tuesday December 19, 2023, the second ordinary session 2023 of the Board of Directors of the Ministerial Sector (CASEM) of his department. Serge Gnaniodem Poda, Minister in charge of Trade, clarified at the start of his remarks that this second ordinary session 2023 of the Board of Directors of the Ministerial Sector (CASEM) represents one of the main governance review frameworks par excellence at the ministerial level with all the actors involved in achieving the missions assigned to the departments.

As such, he argues, the participants will have the mission of reviewing the implementation of the recommendations of the first session of CASEM 2023. In addition to this, it will be a question of the adoption and validation of the plans of ministerial actions 2024-2026, as well as the 2024 annual work plan.

According to Serge Gnaniodem Poda, this session is of particular importance in the context of the implementation of the Action Plan for Stabilization and Development (PA-SD), which is a key instrument operationalizing the national development policy in during the transition period.

He added that the department’s interventions aim to contribute significantly to the four pillars of the action plan, with emphasis on pillar 3 focused on reshaping the state and improving governance. For the year 2024, the minister in charge of trade announced that his department intends to focus on various actions aimed at stimulating economic growth and strengthening the private sector.

“These actions include the revival of key industrial enterprises such as the flour mill of Faso and BRAFASO, the promotion of local raw materials processing units, the improvement of the productivity of artisanal units and the strengthening of dialogue between the government and the private sector, the continuation of industrial infrastructure works for national and international investors, as well as increased market surveillance to guarantee the availability of healthy goods and products for the population », he confided.

Regarding the examination and adoption of planning documents, namely the 2024-2026 ministerial action plan and the 2024 annual work plan, the minister stressed that “These documents, developed from contributions from the department’s budgetary programs, will guide future efforts”.
