‘Jai Bhim’ controversy: Police guard actor Surya’s house | Jai Bhim Controversy

by time news

Actor Surya’s house has been cordoned off by the police following a controversy related to the Jai Bhim movie. Police have secured the residence of the actor in T Nagar, Chennai.

The Vanniyar gang had yesterday issued notices to Surya, Jyothika and director TJ Jnanavel alleging that the film portrays the Vanniyar community badly.

The notice was sent by the state president of the Vanniyar group. He also apologized to the producers for misrepresenting the community. Five crore is required to be transferred within seven days of receiving the notice.

The theme of the film is based on real life events. Even the names of the characters are real. However, Vanniyar deliberately portrayed the character of a policeman who tortured Rajakannan as a member of the caste. In the real incident, the policeman is a Christian named Antony Sami. The calendar with the Vanniyarsangham symbol was also deliberately used in the film. The notice states that this is with the malicious intent of defaming the community and tarnishing the reputation of the community.

Actress Jyothika, who is also Surya’s wife, has also sent notices to Surya and Jyothika’s production company 2D Entertainment and an Amazon Prime representative. Last week, Surya had made it clear that Jai Bhim did not intend to insult any individual or community through the film.
