Jane Karla compete in bronze at the Fazza Championship

Brazilian Jane Karla Gogel will fight for the bronze medal at the Paralympic archery Fazza Championship, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. She won three matches in the women’s open compound this Tuesday (05) and lost in the semi-final tiebreaker, going to the third place match. The archer will compete again on Thursday (07).

Jane Karla was the third best athlete in the ranking phase and, therefore, entered directly into the 16th phase. She debuted in the knockout stage, beating Colombian Yasneide Peñaranda 146 to 138. She then beat Indonesian Teodora Ferelly 10 to 9 in the tiebreaker, after a match that ended in a draw at 136 to 136.

In the quarterfinals, Jane defeated Iraq’s Sarah Al-Hameed by 140 to 136. In the semifinals, she faced Turkey’s Oznur Cure and had a very balanced duel, which ended in a draw at 142 to 142. In the tiebreaker, the two athletes they got 9 right, but the Turkish woman got the better of her because she was closer to 10 and won.
