The pair met for a custom sneaker-making date in Hongdae, a choice made after Jang Woo-hyuk recalled Oh Chae-yi mentioning her interest in one-day classes. Upon arriving at the workshop, Oh Chae-yi expressed surprise, asking the artist, “Why are you here?”
Jang Woo-hyuk inquired about their relationship. The artist explained they attended church together and that Oh Chae-yi had visited his solo exhibition two years prior. “It’s so creepy,” Jang Woo-hyuk remarked. “We were in the same space. This is almost like a movie. Isn’t it destiny?”
Sweet Sentiments and Sweat
As they worked on customizing each other’s sneakers, Oh Chae-yi commented on their easy conversation. Jang Woo-hyuk admitted he struggled to concentrate because of her, wanting to create a beautiful shoe for her. When she noted his sincerity towards the shoes, he emphasized, “I’m serious about you, Chae.”
The couple proudly showed off their unique sneakers. Jang Woo-hyuk’s affection was evident as he even put on Oh Chae-yi’s socks. They later walked along the Han River amidst a heatwave, with temperatures reaching 37 degrees Celsius. Jang Woo-hyuk’s white shirt became soaked with sweat, revealing his upper body.
After a 40-minute walk, Jang Woo-hyuk took Oh Chae-yi to a coffee shop in Mangwon-dong. Watching the scene, Moon Se-yoon and Sim Jin-hwa humorously questioned the lengthy walk to reach the coffee shop.
Jang Woo-hyuk personally made a coffee for Oh Chae-yi, expressing his sincerity. While enjoying their drinks, he asked if she felt a connection. Oh Chae-yi responded affirmatively, admitting she was a bit flustered. “We had many things in common from the first time we met,” Jang Woo-hyuk reflected. “I felt it was destiny while dating today.”
