Jean-Claude Van Damme promised to show a part of himself that the world has not yet seen

Legendary action actor Jean-Claude Van Damme will star in director James Cullen Bressac’s The Darkness of Man. The karate and kickboxing champion promised that the audience would see a part of his soul that he never showed.

Van Damme said that the idea for the painting had been hatched for two years. It will be pretty dark. The director defined the film’s style as neo-noir.

“In the film, I have to fight, and my character is not in shape at all. He drank a lot, he had problems. He lost someone. My character will be more honest than me in real life,” said the actor.

James Bressac added that the protagonist of the action movie will have to witness the murder of the man he loved and take care of the child. The situation then spirals out of control and the man will have to fight out of necessity. Van Damme will not demonstrate his usual honed skills, and will suffer physically.

At the same time, there will be no less stunts and fights in the film than usual. Jean-Claude Van Damme reported that he worked almost without stuntmen. Only the insurance company banned him from arson scenes and jumping off buildings.
