Jerusalem Pride: Parade under the eyes of snipers – Israel

Border police officers with assault rifles stand shoulder to shoulder, legs apart. Behind their backs, brightly dressed people of all ages and genders happily dance their way through the city. Today, on the day of the Jerusalem Pride Parade, the lesbian, gay, bi-, trans- and intersex and other queer people in Jerusalem are allowed to be who they are. But this is only possible because they are protected by masses of police officers.
