JetSmart announces new routes in Colombia: 7 national and 1 international | Companies | Business

The airline JetSmart, owned by the American investment fund Índigo Partners, announced the eight new routes that it will operate in Colombia, giving prominence to cities such as Cali, Medellín, Cúcuta, Pereira, San Andrés and Cartagena, among others.

The new routes announced are seven internal and one international, and with them the airline already completes 15 national and 8 international routes in Colombia.

“This decision reaffirms our commitment to providing quality service,” commented JetSmart.

“With the objective of continuing to expand the country’s air connectivity and be able to operate these new routes, we will incorporate new aircraft in May, June and July, totaling a fleet of seven aircraft in this first phase of our arrival as a Colombian air operator. Our Airbus A321Neo aircraft are part of the newest fleet in South America and promote the return of the ‘ultra low cost’ model to Colombia,” explained Víctor Mejía, CCO of JetSmart.

Below are the 7 new national routes with their weekly frequencies and launch prices:

– San Andrés-Medellín: 5 weekly frequencies, with rates (fees and taxes included) from $133,000.

– Cali-Medellín: 10 weekly frequencies, with rates (fees and taxes included) from $61,070.

– Cali-Santa Marta: 5 weekly frequencies, with rates (fees and taxes included) from $84,870.

– Cúcuta-Cartagena: 3 weekly frequencies, with rates (fees and taxes included) from $93,700.

– Cúcuta-Medellín: 7 weekly frequencies, with rates (fees and taxes included) from $72,775.

– Medellín-Pereira: 7 weekly frequencies, with rates (fees and taxes included) from $96,280.

– Pereira-Santa Marta: 5 weekly frequencies, with rates (fees and taxes included) from $67,620.

Internationally, the new route will be Pereira-Lima (Peru).

These flights will begin operations in June and tickets are now available at jetsmart.com and travel agencies.

“The airline becomes a fundamental element by linking both the main cities of Colombia and those that currently do not have direct connections. This initiative paves the way for more fluid and efficient access to all regions of the country, thus promoting development economic, tourist and cultural of Colombia,” said the company.

JetSmart began domestic operations on March 14, 2024 and, according to its own figures, it has transported 118,000 passengers on its various routes.
