“Joker”, at 9.20pm on Italia 1, the 2019 film with Joaquin Phoenix in the role of Batman’s number 1 enemy. Here’s the plot. Arthur Fleck lives with his elderly mother in a dilapidated building and makes ends meet by advertising on the street disguised as a clown, waiting to have the right material to realize his desire to be a comedian.
His life, however, is a tragedy: ignored, trampled on, bullied, made fun of by everyone, he has developed a nervous tic that makes him laugh out of turn uncontrollably, making him disturbing and further distancing him from any possible social relationship.
But one day Arthur can’t take it anymore and reacts violently, gun in hand. While the Gotham City police hunt the killer clown, the population elects him as an urban hero, symbol of the revolt of the oppressed against the arrogance of the rich.
