Jónsson was last seen on CCTV footage walking past the entrance to Highfield Hospital, heading towards the Collins Avenue junction, a short time after leaving the Bonnington Hotel on Swords Road in Whitehall around 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2019. The case has remained open for seven years, with Gardaí continuing to seek leads.
