Stray Kids’ ‘The DominATE Experience’ Scores $18.8 Million Global Box Office Debut
Stray Kids’ concert film, ‘Stray Kids: The DominATE Experience,’ has proven a significant draw for fans, generating $18.8 million (approximately KRW 27.4 billion) in global ticket sales during its opening weekend. The film, a cinematic adaptation of the group’s expansive ‘DominATE’ world tour, secured a fourth-place ranking in the North American weekend box office with a $5.6 million debut (approximately KRW 8.1 billion) from November 6th to 8th.
Global Performance and Market Breakdown
Beyond North America, ‘The DominATE Experience’ resonated strongly with international audiences, adding an additional $13.2 million to its total. Mexico emerged as the highest-grossing market globally, contributing $2.1 million in revenue. Following closely behind were Germany with $1.5 million and the United Kingdom and Ireland combined, generating $1.3 million.
Contextualizing the Success
While the film’s performance is impressive, it falls below the global earnings of BTS’s ‘BTS: Yet to Come in Cinemas (2023)’ which amassed $29 million worldwide. However, ‘The DominATE Experience’ exceeded the box office results of previous concert films such as ‘Bring the Soul: The Movie’ ($12.1 million) and ‘Break the Silence: The Movie’ ($12.1 million), both released in 2019 and 2020, and significantly outperformed ‘Silence: The Movie’ ($8.9 million).
The ‘DominATE’ Tour and its Cinematic Extension
‘Stray Kids: The Dominate Experience’ offers fans a unique opportunity to relive the energy of the group’s ‘DominATE’ world tour. The tour itself was a massive undertaking, encompassing 54 performances across 34 regions globally between August 2024 and July 2025. The tour culminated in a highly anticipated encore concert at Incheon Asiad Main Stadium in October of last year.
The success of this film underscores the growing demand for cinematic concert experiences, offering a new avenue for artists to connect with their fanbase and expand their reach.
