The 2024 Paris Olympic Games are fast approaching and the 2023 European Judo Championships are a rehearsal eight months away from the global competition. The best judokas in Europe will meet for a weekend of fighting in the south of France, at the Arena Sud de France in Montpellier from November 3 to 5.

Nine years after the last edition in the Hérault city, 18 French people will be on the tatamis, including Clarisse Agbégnénou, reigning Olympic champion in -63kg who will be looking for a sixth continental title. The French athletes will be keen to shine at home and do better than during the last European Championships in 2022, during which the French team gleaned 8 medals, including 3 European champion titles.

The weekend program will be divided as follows: -48 kg women, -52 kg women, -57 kg women, -60 kg men and -66 kg men on Friday; -63 kg women, -70 kg women, -73 kg men and -81 kg men on Saturday; -78 kg women, +78 kg women, -90 kg men, -100 kg men and +100 kg men on Sunday.

The European Judo Championships will be broadcast from November 3 to 5 by L’Equipe. The elimination phases will be broadcast on the Live platform on Friday while the final phases will be broadcast on La Chaîne L’Equipe on Saturday and Sunday. The elimination phases can also be followed on the France Judo YouTube channel.
