WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, now in London’s Belmarsh prison, and his fiancée Stella Maurice intend to file a lawsuit against UK Attorney General Dominic Raab and Belmarsh Prison Chief Jenny Louis give the opportunity to get married. The couple in love accuses them of violating human rights – including the violation of the rights of their two children. This was announced on Sunday, November 7, by The Guardian.

According to Julian Assange and his fiancée, they still have not received a response to repeated requests for consent to hold the wedding in prison. Lawyer Maurice attributed the lack of response from the British authorities to the hostile attitude towards WikiLeaks on the part of the United States, which is seeking Britain’s extradition of Assange to America.

In October, during the consideration of the US appeal against the decision on the impossibility of Assange’s extradition, his lawyers brought up new arguments that the CIA was planning to kidnap or kill the founder of WikiLeaks, which, they said, is “cause for concern” if Assange will be extradited to the United States on charges of espionage.

On October 7, Assange sent an official request to the prison administration office asking for consent to the wedding. A few days later, the couple’s lawyers asked the prison to allow Maurice and the Greenwich registry office to visit the prison together so that the couple could notify their intention to get married.

Luis reportedly told the couple’s lawyers that she should forward the wedding request to the Crown Prosecution Service. However, according to defenders, the head of the prison is not obliged to do this at all, since no charges have been brought against Assange in the UK.

Raabu and Luis, who are also accused of abuse of power over Assange in the lawsuit, were given a deadline for providing a response until November 12.
