Mazatlán, Sinaloa, February 7, 2026—More than 8,000 linear meters of sewer lines are undergoing intensive cleaning to ensure sanitary conditions for attendees of the upcoming Mazatlán 2026 International Carnival. The proactive measures aim to prevent disruptions and safeguard public health during the city’s largest annual festival.
Carnival Preparations Include Extensive Sewer System Maintenance
Efforts will focus on high-traffic areas to accommodate the thousands expected to attend the festivities.

The Municipal Government of Mazatlán, under President Estrella Palacios Domínguez, partnered with JUMAPAM to initiate the Special Maintenance Program. This program targets the sewer system in areas anticipated to experience the highest concentration of visitors during the Mazatlán 2026 International Carnival, scheduled for February 12–17.
