The production team of SBS’ new entertainment program ‘Jungle Bob’, which explained that Kim Byung-man’s claim of ‘idea theft’ was groundless, recently went abroad for a field trip.

According to SBS, the production team of ‘Jungle Bob’ plans to conduct a field trip, program composition, and casting with the goal of filming in May. ‘Jungle Bob’ is currently discussing appearances by Ryu Soo-young, broadcaster Lee Seung-yoon, singer and actor Seo In-guk, and actor Bae Yu-ram.

‘Jungle Bob’ is a new entertainment program based on the concept of experiencing food culture in remote areas. SBS explained that ‘Jungle Bob’ is a new program and not a spin-off of ‘Law of the Jungle’.

However, ‘Jungle Bob’ became a controversial issue due to the fact that the program title and concept were reminiscent of the ‘Law of the Jungle’ series, and the fact that Kim Byung-man, who had been waiting for the return of ‘Law of the Jungle’ for a long time, did not appear.

Kim Byung-man also attracted attention by expressing his disappointment about ‘Jungle Bob’. He has been an iconic performer who led the ‘Jungle’ series for 11 years, starting with the African episode of ‘Law of the Jungle’ in 2011 and ending with ‘Law of the Jungle Stove League’ in 2021. He also claimed to one media outlet that ‘Jungle Bob’ was a program planned based on his idea.

Regarding this, SBS said on the 19th, “‘Jungle Bob’ was inspired by Ryu Soo-young, who recreated the taste of Korea on the spot using ingredients purchased at the local market during the filming of ‘Green Father’s Association’ in Sri Lanka in August 2023. “It is a program planned by the production team of ‘Hoe’,” he said, adding, “We have already finalized the programming at the end of January and are preparing for production.”

He continued, “Ryu Soo-young, who has a lot of experience cooking in remote areas through volunteer work in Africa, is showing that K-recipes can work in food cultures that are completely different from ours through ‘Jungle Rice’ and is promoting the taste of Korea to the world. He explained the purpose of the program, saying, “We plan to introduce ‘K-food culture exchange period’ in line with the concept.”

An SBS official who recently met with News 1 also expressed the opinion that Kim Byung-man and PD Kim Jin-ho had a long relationship through ‘Law of the Jungle’ and that they were close to each other beyond the director and actor, so they hoped that they would clear up any misunderstandings.
