In the reactions of the new mayor of Athens, Harry Doukasregarding the amendment that provides for the reform of the institutional framework for the operation of the joint-stock company “Redevelopment of Athens“, replies o Kostas Bakoyannis, speaking of “vile and vulgar insinuations.”
Earlier, Haris Doukas had characterized the amendment as “scandalous”, which, as he says, takes over from the Municipality of Athens the management of the company that ran the “Great Promenade”.
“Because some leave some vile and vulgar insinuations. Mr. Doukas, after so many updates that we have given him, should now know that Anaplasi S.A. it has absolutely nothing to do with the work of the University“, notes Kostas Bakoyiannis, in his post on “X”.
At the same time, the outgoing mayor of Athens also responds to the objections of Mr. Doukas, regarding failure of financial and management control which the new municipal authority intends to carry out on the company and its affairs.
“For reasons of principle, I welcome any management and financial control. He is welcome. Where he wants, how he wants him, whenever he wants him“, emphasizes Mr. Bakoyiannis and adds: “In a few days, Mr. Doukas will take over a municipality stronger and more orderly than ever. A pity, because we could have disagreed civilly, without hurt consciences and without the mediation of cheap communication games. I’ll wait for an apology even if it’s late».

What does the amendment provide for “Anaplasi S.A.”
According to what is stated in Article 1 of the amendment, an anonymous company with the name “Anaplasi S.A.” is established. based in the Municipality of Athens, with a duration of 15 years and its supervision is exercised jointly by the Minister of Environment and Energy, the Minister of Culture, the Minister of the Interior and the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport.
In article 2 the possibility of cooperation of “Anaplasi SA” is expanded with Local Government Organizations and the implementation of renovations throughout the Greek territory. The program of actions and interventions for the renovations is specialized and modified by decision of the Board of Directors. and following the relevant opinion of the Advisory Technical Council.
The Board of directors becomes six members and consists of a person of recognized prestige, scientific training and professional experience, defined by a decision of the shareholders exercising the rights of the Greek State in the context of participation in the general meeting as chairman, of a managing director also of recognized prestige, scientific training and professional experience, indicated by the president and by a representative of the Ministry of Environment and Energy, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport. Their definition is made by joint decision of the supervising ministries.
The operation of “Anaplasi S.A.” aided by the Advisory Technical Councilwhich is made up of eight members for a three-year term, by joint decision of the four ministries and gives opinions on matters of purpose and responsibilities of the company.
Within 15 days (until 31/12/2023) an emergency meeting is convened general assembly of “Anaplasi S.A.”, in order to adapt its statutes.
