“Whatever you do, don’t listen to celebrity advice on how to stay married for a long time” is the secret of Kevin Bacon, who turns 63 today, and his wife Kyra Sedgwick to a long-lasting marriage. The two, among Hollywood’s stainless couples, will celebrate 33 years together on 4 September after passing even the most difficult test: the test “always together in lockdown during a pandemic”. “My wife and I realized that we have been married for a long time and that the quarantine was really an incredible test, a kind of test for our marriage – explained Bacon – because I mean, we were really isolated”. Their very first meeting dates back to several years ago: she was just 12 years old and had gone to see a play by the ‘Footloose’ actor (then 19 years old). «I was doing a show – Bacon revealed to Radio X – her mother told her that she had to go and see it because she too wanted to be an actress. During the break between the matinee and the evening show I was at lunch in a place where she was also there. Her brother pushed her to come and talk to me. She came to me and told me that she had seen the show and that I was very good ». The actor, however, did not behave exactly like a gentleman: «I replied in an arrogant way, like ‘Thank you sweetness’».
