North Korean leader Kim Jong-un demanded that the army leadership intensify the practice of conducting military exercises in conditions as close as possible to combat operations in a modern war.

“Comrade Kim Jong-un has set a programmatic task: in order to comprehensively strengthen the combat capability of the entire army, it is necessary to more intensively conduct military exercises, prioritizing the continuous research and application of real and scientifically based methods to achieve maximum efficiency on the real battlefield, in accordance with the requirements of modern war,” the agency said in a statement.
Kim Jong-un made this statement after completing a Korean People’s Army airborne exercise, which he attended with his daughter.
“Comrade Kim Jong-un once again emphasized that the main task of the army is, firstly, secondly, and thirdly, preparation for war,” KCNA quotes the head of state.
