King Jigme Khesar Namguel Wangchuck of Bhutan, one of the friendly countries of Bangladesh, arrived in Dhaka on a four-day state visit, accompanied by Queen Jetsun Pema.
The King of Bhutan landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on a special flight of Druk Air or Royal Bhutan Airlines on Monday (25 March) around 10:30 am.

This is the first visit of a head of state to Bangladesh after the Awami League government was formed under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for the fourth time in the last January elections.
Apart from family members, the King of Bhutan is accompanied by cabinet members and high-ranking government officials.
Upon arrival in Dhaka, the King of Bhutan will visit the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial Museum at 32 Dhanmondi and pay his respects to the memory of the Father of the Nation. He will then hold a meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. And he will also have a courtesy meeting with Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud.
Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud said that three MoUs will be signed between the two countries in the presence of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Raja Jigme Khesar. These are the establishment of a burn and plastic surgery unit in Thimphu, the establishment of a special economic zone for Bhutan in Kurigram, Bangladesh, and technical cooperation in consumer protection.
Apart from this, an agreement regarding cultural cooperation between Bhutan and Bangladesh will also be renewed. The King will pay tribute to the martyrs of the Great Liberation War at Savar National Memorial in the early hours of the next Independence Day, March 26.
After returning from there, he will visit Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute.

King of Bhutan will visit Padma Bridge on Wednesday. From there you will go to visit the Bangladesh Special Economic Zone located in Arai Hazar, Narayanganj.
Jigme Khesar will go to Kurigram on Thursday morning. Visit the Special Economic Zone there. On the same day, he will go to Bhutan after a four-day visit to Bangladesh through Sonahat land port.
Border Guard Bangladesh or BGB will give a guard of honor to the king of Bhutan at Sonahat land port. State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury will bid him farewell.
