All friends and acquaintances of the director Klim Shipenko know: he had a dream to fly into space a long time ago, and after the film Salyut-7 (2017) grew into confidence: “I will fly!” In 2020, Roscosmos and Channel One came up with the idea of a project, part of which would be filmed on the ISS. Shipenko was chosen as the director – he is young, ambitious, professional, works very hard, knows how to shoot in different genres.
Between his two space projects – “Salyut-7” and “Challenge” – Shipenko managed to shoot “Text” and get the “Golden Eagle” for it, the comedy “Kholop” (and become the country’s highest grossing director for three years), as well as the film about the last days of Yesenin “December”, which has not yet been released.
