Kodaikanal Poondi forest found missing people of Eratupetta Kerala | Deshabhimani

Erathupetta > Two missing youths have been found from a group of five who went on an excursion from Thevarupara to Kodaikanal in Tamil Nadu. Altaf (24) and Hafiz (23), son of Mullupara Basheer, were found two days later at Pallipara in Thevarupara, Eratupetta.

Both were found in an area called Katrikava, 25 km inside the Poondi forest. Katrikava is home to wildlife including elephants. Two laborers who had gone to cut firewood here found the two at around 4 am. The workers then informed the Tamil Nadu police and they were brought out of the forest by noon.

They went missing on Tuesday night. When they went down to see the forest at night, they lost their way in the heavy rain and snow and went to the inner forest. After missing the two, the people in the group informed the locals and then informed the Tamil Nadu Police. After coming to know about the incident, Eratupetta police, relatives and a team of good people came to Kodaikanal to search. Poondi forest area is 16 km from Kodaikanal.
