Jerusalem – A Malayali was killed in a missile attack in Israel. Nibin Maxwell, a native of Kollam, was killed. It is reported that seven people, including two Malayalis, were injured in the incident. They were agricultural workers. The attack took place at Moshaven in the Galilee Finger. Two of the injured have been identified as Bush Joseph and Paul Melvin. Paul Melvin is a native of Idukki. The incident happened around 11 am local time on Monday.

The Israeli Embassy in India has expressed shock and sorrow over the incident. The embassy termed it as a cowardly terrorist attack by the terrorist organization Hezbollah against the agricultural workers who were working peacefully in the plantation. “Our prayers and thoughts naturally go out to the families of those killed and injured. Hospitals are providing excellent services to the injured. Israel treats both Israeli citizens and foreign nationals who are injured or killed as a result of terrorism. We will be there to support and provide assistance to families. The countries will stand united for the speedy recovery of the injured and for the comfort of the families of the deceased’ – said the Indian Embassy in Israel.
