The Krasnopol high-precision ammunition has received a new modification, as a result, it will be able to be launched from air carriers, said the head of the Design Bureau of Instrument Engineering named after Academician A.G. Shipunov Semyon Pogorelsky.
“Krasnopol” – corrected artillery ammunition of 152 or 155 mm caliber. Designed to destroy armored targets and military facilities from the first shot.
Speaking on Channel One, Pogorelsky said that a whole family of Krasnopol ammunition has now been created.
“There is a whole family there… there are modifications that fire mortars, there are modifications that fire from air carriers,” he said.
As specified at the enterprise, the projectile was finalized, which made it possible to achieve simplicity of design and reliable operation.
The flight correction of the Krasnopol projectile is carried out by aerodynamic rudders in the final flight section according to the laser mark on the target. The projectile was exported to China and India. Export versions of the projectile are adapted to the respective complexes of the importing countries.
