With the opening of his first political-security cabinet debate today (Sunday), Prime Minister Yair Lapid hung the “Jerusalem Declaration” in the cabinet debate room, which he signed with US President Joe Biden during his visit last week.
“We will first hang the Jerusalem Declaration, in a place designated for historical declarations,” Lapid said at the beginning of the discussion. “It joins the rest of the historical statements that hang here, in this room.”
As you may recall, the “Jerusalem Declaration” was signed by Lapid and Biden during their meeting last Thursday. The declaration includes many US commitments to Israel – including a promise that the US will never allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons.
