Lay astronauts return to Earth

After their journey into space, the first space crew consisting only of laypersons is to land back on earth on Sunday night. At 1:06 am Central European time, a capsule with the four returnees off the coast of Florida in the Atlantic, announced the mission called “Inspiration4”. The “Dragon” space capsule of the private US space company SpaceX by star entrepreneur Elon Musk was launched from the Cape Canaveral spaceport on Wednesday evening.

The capsule circled the earth for the past three days. The spacecraft needed around 90 minutes to circumnavigate the earth. At 580 kilometers above the earth, it was even higher than the International Space Station (ISS).

On board are 38-year-old US billionaire Jared Isaacman, who chartered the All excursion, as well as 29-year-old medical assistant Hayley Arceneaux, 51-year-old artist and professor Sian Proctor and 41-year-old aerospace engineer Chris Sembrosk.
