Leg pain when climbing stairs.. an indicator of this disease! – Saudi News

by time news

The German Society for Vascular Surgery and Vascular Medicine said that recurring leg pain while walking or climbing stairs portends what is known as peripheral artery disease. The association explained that it is a form of atherosclerosis, which appears when low-density cholesterol moves from the blood to settle on the walls of the arteries, and the arteries are damaged, resulting in high blood pressure, noting that smokers, obese people and people with diabetes are more likely to suffer from it. Symptoms also include numbness, weakness in the legs, cold, pale legs and difficulty in wound healing. A doctor should be consulted as soon as symptoms are noticed for treatment with blood-thinning medications, and a healthy lifestyle based on healthy nutrition and exercise while quitting smoking.
