Asia Lions beat World Giants by 35 runs in the third match of Legends League cricket. Asia Lions won the match which was reduced to 10 overs due to rain. Batting first, the Asia Lions posted an impressive score of 99/3, while the World Giants’ reply ended at 64/5. Pakistan legend Misbah-ul-Haq, who saved the Asia Lions who collapsed in the first batting, is the star of the game.

World Giants won the toss and decided to bowl first in the match which was reduced to 10 overs due to rain. Sri Lankan legends Thilakaratne Dilshan and Upul Tharanga opened the batting for the Asia Lions. They quickly lost the wicket of Tharanga who scored one run.

Asia Lions were 39/3 in 5.2 overs when Thisara Perera and skipper Shahid Afridi fell behind. Batting at number five, Pakistan legend Misbah-ul-Haq changed the game. Misbah’s firework in partnership with Dilshan took the Asia Lions to a crushing score of 99/3 in 10 overs. Misbah scored 44 runs in 19 balls with the help of 4 fours and 3 sixes. Thilakaratne Dilshan remained unbeaten on 32 runs off 24 balls including 3 fours and a six.

Chasing the 100-run target, opener Chris Gayle gave the World Giants a great start. His score was 23 off 16 balls with the help of 3 sixes. Gayle fell when the team score reached 40. With this, the collapse of the world giants began. They collapsed from 40/1 in 4.2 overs to 49/5 in 8 overs. With this, the team confirmed the defeat. Lendl Simmons (14 runs), Shane Watson (3) and Aaron Finch (2) are the main scorers of World Giants. Captain Shahid Afridi and Abdur Razak took 2 wickets each for Asia Lions.
