by time news

Lenovo has announced the ThinkPad Z series – a new family of the premium business brand ThinkPad, which features, for the first time in the family, advanced designs and pattern-breakers that combine new colors and materials.

The new ThinkPad Z13 and Z16 are the first to introduce a design philosophy aimed at a business user audience that presents higher demands on the technology it uses. The new design reflects a change in thinking about technology, its impact on the environment and the sources of the raw components. The design of the computer is designed to provide colorful accents, and in addition it includes more environmentally friendly materials such as recycled aluminum or recycled vegan (imitation leather) leather. The idea of sustainability is also reflected in the packaging made from 100% bamboo and sugar cane that can be recycled and used in compost, and the AC charger uses 90% post-consumer materials (PCC).

ThinkPad Z13 and Z16 will be among the first laptops powered by AMD’s new Ryzen PRO 6000 processors and they will come with Microsoft’s Pluton security processor. Performance and security features blend well with each other and with Lenovo’s secure and improved design methodology through its collaboration with AMD and Microsoft. Based on AMD’s PRO Security layered approach, AMD’s Ryzen 6000 processors are the first x86 processors to integrate Pluton for powerful security from the CPU to the cloud on Windows 11 computers. Pluton was designed and updated by Microsoft and hardens the security of new Windows 11 computers with Protecting user identity, data and applications.

Unique collaboration between AMD To Lenovo

Lenovo and AMD have teamed up to deliver innovative platform design, while optimizing all aspects of the system from silicon to hardware and software. The ThinkPad Z13, with AMD’s exclusive Ryzen 7 PRO 6860Z3 processor, delivers a superior sharing experience. The processor is optimized to deliver smooth audio and video performance, as well as amazing battery life in applications like Teams and Zoom. The ThinkPad Z16 can also be added to AMD’s new graphics card Radeon RX 6500M with smart technologies that increase productivity and enable content creation alongside leisure use. Combined with Ryzen processors, working in Smart Shift Max mode offers instant power boost for the CPU and graphics chip, with Smart Shift Eco mode designed to maximize battery efficiency.

Design meets functionality

As we celebrate the 30th anniversary of ThinkPad, we are proud of ThinkPad’s legacy and dedication to innovation that will last for generations to come. We are very excited about the significant design development in the ThinkPad Z series, but above all proud of the two new successors ThinkPad Z13 and Z16 designed and built based on the meticulous design and engineering line that have become synonymous with the brand.

New Z13 touchpad

Design elements and key technology features have been incorporated into the ThinkPad Z series to enhance the user experience. The screens come with extra narrow edges and an aspect ratio of 16:10. ZOOM and TEAMS calls will be upgraded thanks to a new line of media that includes an improved FHD camera, a 1.4 micrometer sensor, and a dual microphone array. A larger, higher-quality 120M glass-coated control pad, seamlessly integrates with the full-glass palm rest area to allow for faster and lighter input. The red TrackPoint, one of the brand’s recognizable identification marks, now offers a new functionality: click Dual on it will launch a quick menu that allows quick access to the common settings of the camera and microphone.

But the Z13 and Z16 are first and foremost mobiles from the ThinkPad family and as such have passed the MIL-Spec 810H tests, as well as stringent quality tests like all ThinkPad computers – a basic step in the development of ThinkPad products, especially when using new materials.
