“Despite the gaps and risks that the fact of having been subject to two jurisdictions – JEP and Justice and Peace – represents for my procedural guarantees and legal security, and which materialized in the preparations for my return in relation to the powers and jurisdictions judicial; I believe that the models of transitional justice that began to operate in Colombia after our demobilization in 2004, both Justice and Peace and the Special Jurisdiction for Peace, are true and legitimate mechanisms for the definitive judicial closure of the internal armed conflict,” he said.
