In a session of the Security Council, UN humanitarian agencies reported that the entire population of the Gaza Strip is hungry to varying degrees.
The deputy director general of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) pointed out that some 2.2 million people are in a situation of food crisis or worse (stage 3 or higher of the hunger classification), “the percentage “highest number of people suffering from this type of acute food insecurity” than that classification “has ever recorded.”
