Press reports revealed that Atletico Madrid aims to sign Polish Robert Lewandowski, the Barcelona striker, in the upcoming summer transfer period.
Lewandowski moved to Barcelona in 2022, coming from Bayern Munich, and his contract with the team extends until the summer of 2026.
According to Sport, the Spanish club’s complex economic situation may force them to sell the Polish star for a good offer.
The report indicated that Atletico Madrid is interested in including Lewandowski, as the club is searching for a player to fill the striker position, after the harsh defeat by Barcelona by three cast a shadow on the team.
If the Polish star ends up at Atletico, he will become the third striker to move from Barcelona to the Madrid team in recent years, after David Villa and Luis Suarez.
