Limited Run Games Announces Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection for 30th Anniversary
After much anticipation, Limited Run Games has officially unveiled its upcoming collection of classic Jurassic Park games, commemorating the 30th anniversary of the iconic 1993 film. During the LRG3 presentation, the retro games publisher revealed that it will be partnering with Universal Games and Digital Platforms to release physical and digital versions of two Jurassic Park titles: Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park 2: The Chaos Continues.
Although the collection only consists of two games, Limited Run Games is including all versions of the titles, originally released on the NES, SNES, and Game Boy. Fans will have the opportunity to play these nostalgic games on multiple platforms.
For avid collectors, Limited Run Games will offer three different editions of the Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection: Standard, Classic, and Prehistoric Editions. Pre-orders for these editions will open on September 1st and will be available until October 15th exclusively on Limited Run Games’ website.
The Standard Edition, priced at $29.99, will include a physical copy of the Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection. Meanwhile, the Classic Edition, priced at $64.99, will also include a steelbook and packaging inspired by the original Jurassic Park VHS case. The most exclusive option, the Prehistoric Edition, priced at $174.99, will consist of a physical copy of the game, a steelbook, packaging inspired by the VHS case, a replica of Dr. Alan Grant’s ID card from the game, a physical soundtrack CD featuring the original music from the Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection, mini replicas of the original Jurassic Park NES, Game Boy, and SNES game cartridges displayed in a custom frame, and packaging inspired by classic Jurassic Park toys.
In addition to the physical copies, Limited Run Games will also release NES, Game Boy, and SNES cartridges of the Jurassic Park games. These cartridges will include replicas of the game manuals and will be priced between $49.99 and $69.99, depending on the chosen console.
For die-hard collectors, there will also be Collector’s Editions of the games, priced at $99.99 per cartridge. These exclusive editions will feature amber-colored cartridges that light up, a double-sided poster, and a numbered foil-stamped slip.
