London– Supersonic flights are coming which can reach from London to New York in just three and a half hours. The US-based ‘Boom Supersonic’ company is behind it. In 2020, the company introduced the first version of the project and the world’s first privately built supersonic jet, Boom XB-1 or ‘Baby Boom’. Test flights of the 21-meter-long aircraft are planned for this year. The company will build more Boom Boom XB-1 aircraft in the coming years if it successfully reaches a distance of 1,600 kilometers per hour. The company also stated that it will build a commercial supersonic aircraft that can carry 55 passengers.
This flight can cover a distance of 5,585 km from London to New York in three and a half hours. Regular commercial flights cover this distance in over six hours. Named ‘Boom Overture’, the aircraft can fly faster than the Concorde. In 2000, Air France Flight 4590 crashed, killing 109 people, and the Concorde, a supersonic airliner, was grounded. Boom Supersonic Co. aims to introduce the Overture by 2029.
