A family in Grenoble, France, is facing unimaginable heartbreak as their son battles terminal brain cancer, compounded by the mysterious disappearance of their vehicle – and the cherished stuffed animals inside – following a police impoundment. “I don’t understand how anyone can be so cruel,” the father recounted,his voice heavy with despair. The details of the roadside encounter are etched in his memory. “I was coming back from dropping my daughter off at a friend’s house, I had picked up Arthur’s plushies and things for the night with my wife at the hospital, when I saw blue lights.”
According to the father, the police team signaled him to pull over and initiated a traffic stop. “the officer told me I wasn’t insured. Even with my insurance certificate and invoices in front of him, he insisted that because my insurance didn’t appear in his systems, he was going to immobilize my car. It was snowing, it was late, I needed to be with my son, not arguing about simple things,” he stated, visibly distressed.
Ultimately, he signed the immobilization order for his Fiat and continued to the hospital on foot, without the comfort items his son desperately wanted. “It was surreal, I would never have thought to encounter such cruel people.”
Vehicle Disappears After impoundment
The situation escalated on Sunday when Rodrigo returned to retrieve his belongings from the vehicle, only to discover it was gone. “Arthur didn’t deserve this. My son is ten years old, he is going to die, he just asked for his canary and his teddy bear and as of this traffic stop, they have disappeared,” he lamented.
The vehicle contained not only Arthur’s plush toys but also Rodrigo’s work computers, essential for his remote engineering job.”These are sensitive data, everything is normally encrypted, but I can no longer work,” he added.
