Sakthivel’s son Manikandan (age 26) hails from Melathenur village next to Rishivandiyam in Kallakurichi district. He is a photographer who studied till 8th standard. He had a studio in Bethanayakan Estate, Salem District. He was introduced to a woman named Bhumika through Facebook. The two were initially talking as friends. Manikandan has been deeply in love with Bhumika though the two have not even met in person so far. Bhumika has not been able to speak for the past few days as Manikandan has been waiting to meet Bhumika in person and express her love somehow. Thus he was devastated not knowing what had happened to Bhumika.
He was constantly in touch with Bhumika’s cell phone. In it, Bhumika’s grandmother picked up her cell phone a few days ago.
Manikandan then asked him about Bhumika and he said that Bhumika had died due to heart disease. Upon hearing this, the traumatized Manikandan was stunned not knowing what to do next. Manikandan came to the conclusion that he could go where his girlfriend went due to heart disease.

Finally, he took the poison that was in the house and drank it. His family admitted him to the Kallakurichi Government Medical College Hospital for treatment. When he was in treatment, the family asked him the reason for his suicide decision. He then confessed that he had fallen in love with a woman named Bhumika and had tried to commit suicide because he was upset that she had died.
His condition worsened and he was rushed to Stanley Hospital in Chennai for further treatment. Doctors there provided intensive care. Despite this, Manikandan succumbed to his injuries. The Rishivandiyam police have registered a case against his father Sakthivel and are investigating. Is.
