The Community of Madrid will reduce 50% all transport passes from September to December. This was announced this Monday by the regional president Isabel Díaz Ayuso, who explained that this discount will be applied to all titles and for the different transports controlled by the community. In this way, the most common subscription, which costs 54.60 euros and allows you to use the bus, metro and Renfe in the capital, will cost 27.30 euros for four months. Also to the 10 trip voucher, which currently costs 12.20 and will be priced at 6.10 euros.

The president of the Community of Madrid has made this decision based on the royal decree approved by the coalition government on June 25 with the aim of dealing with the consequences of the war in Ukraine. In this regulation, the Executive established a discount of 30% of all the titles managed by the autonomies that would be defrayed at a cost to the state coffers. In addition, it established the possibility that the communities and local entities that wished could complement discount up to 50%.

Díaz Ayuso has underlined that they will make use of this possibility and that from the month of September the monthly transport passes, which range from 54.60 euros up to 131.80 depending on the territory it covers, they will be worth half. The president of the region has pointed out that this very week they will take the proposal to the Regional Transport Consortium so that it can be approved and launched in just 15 days.
