Mahindra Thar 5 door: Mahindra’s Thar 5-Door Edition has been revealed through photos taken during a test drive, revealing many features of the car.

The much-anticipated Mahindra Thar 5-door is all set to go on sale by the end of this year. For this, the company has trademarked 7 names including Armada. The new SUV will not only be a standard tar vehicle with two extra doors, but will also include several new updates, according to several reports. In this case, many photos taken during the test run of the new 5 door edition tar model car have been released on the internet. Accordingly, many features that can be featured in this car are now confirmed.
Mahindra Thar 5-door: exterior highlights:
As per the photos caught during the test drive, the exterior of the Thar 5-door edition will get a new grille and bumper design along with upgraded fog lights. The top variants get LED lighting including the headlamps, side indicators on the front fenders and fog lamps. Unlike the Thar 3-door, the tail-lamps on the 5-door are also LED. The uniquely designed rear door handles and the shape of the mirror at the rear are similar to the Tar EV Concept.
Customers are also given many options in choosing wheels and tires. The top variants get 19-inch diamond-cut alloys. Some mid-spec variants can opt for plainer-looking alloy wheels. Entry-level trims get steel wheels. Also, the Thar will get a 5-door rear wiper system and a remote fuel-filling cab opening option. – Both of these are welcome features for the Thar model, absent from the Thar 3-door edition.
Mahindra Thar 5-door: Interior highlights:
The new 5 Door Edition has some differences and add-ons compared to the Tar-3 Door Edition. Firstly, it will have single-tone and dual-tone options depending on the variants. The new Thar 5-door dashboard design has been tweaked slightly, especially for the center console, to accommodate a larger infotainment screen. The Thar 5-door gets two full digital screens measuring 10.25-inches each. One is used for infotainment and the other for instrumental tasks. The infotainment screen is similar to the one on the upcoming XUV300 facelift, while the instrument cluster looks similar to what we have already seen on the XUV700. Additional features on the Thar 5-door include push button start, front and rear center armrests, leatherette seat upholstery, a sunroof and rear AC vents. The Thar 5 Door Edition continues as a 5-seater model like the 3-door Thar. There is no news about the Thar 5-door getting third-row seats.
Mahindra Thar 5-door: safety features:
The Thar 3-door edition gets dual front airbags and drum brakes at the rear. But the Mahindra Thar 5-Door Edition gets six airbags along with disc brakes at the rear wheels. It is expected to get front parking sensors and a dashcam. There is no information about ADAS or a 360-degree camera system.
Mahindra Thar 5-door: suspension, powertrains:
The Thar 5-door is designed on a ladder-frame chassis similar to that found in the Scorpio N. That means the Thar 5 Tor’s wheelbase is the same as the Scorpio N’s. The suspension setup is the same. Frequency dependent dampers can also be obtained in the TAR 5-door. The Thar 5-door is expected to get the same 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine options as the Scorpio N model. To attract customers, 4WD and 2WD options are likely to be introduced on the Mahindra Thar 5-Door.

The launch of the Thar 5-Door is said to take place in mid-2024 and will be Mahindra’s next big launch after the facelifted XUV300 that goes on sale in February. The starting price of Thar 5-Door is Rs. It is expected to be up to 15 lakhs.
