Police are urgently appealing for public assistance in locating Troy Milne, a 61-year-old man who has been missing for five days after leaving his campsite in VictoriaS east. The search focuses on the areas surrounding Woodside Beach, Sale, Bairnsdale, Omeo, and Swifts Creek, as authorities express growing concern for his welfare.
Police initiated the search on Tuesday after Mr. Milne departed from a caravan park in Woodside Beach, where he was camping with his wife, too purchase supplies.

mr. Milne, a resident of Cockatoo, was reportedly seen entering a store in Sale approximately 40 minutes after leaving the caravan park.The following day, his vehicle – a silver and black Jeep Wrangler with license plate XPZ-342 – was identified in bairnsdale.
Authorities believe Mr. Milne then traveled to Omeo,located in Victoria’s high country,where he was observed at a service station shortly after midday. According to reports, shop staff noted that he appeared lost and confused, and requested directions back to Bairnsdale.
The last confirmed sighting of Mr. Milne’s vehicle came via CCTV footage, showing it traveling along the Great Alpine Road in Swifts Creek at 1:00 PM on Tuesday.
Critical Health Concerns
The situation is notably urgent due to Mr. Milne’s medical condition. Police have confirmed that he is insulin-dependent diabetic and was not carrying his insulin with him when he went missing. This lack of access to vital medication is fueling anxieties among both law enforcement and Mr. Milne’s family.

Since Tuesday, Victoria Police, including its Air Wing and volunteers from the State Emergency Service (SES), have been actively searching for Mr. Milne. Despite these extensive efforts, no further evidence of his whereabouts has been discovered.

Mr. Milne is described as being 193cm (approximately 6’4″) tall, with a medium to solid build and visible scars on his forehead. He was last seen wearing a white singlet, a gray jumper, track pants, and black thongs.
Police are urging anyone with information regarding Mr. Milne’s location to promptly contact Triple Zero (000) or the Sale Police Station. Any detail, no matter how small, could prove crucial in bringing him home safely.
