Managem increases its RNPG by 88% in 2022

The net income group share (RNPG) Managem stood at 1.615 billion dirhams (MDH) for the past year, up 88% compared to 2021.

In a financial press release on its annual results, published at the end of its Board of Directors, meeting on Wednesday, Managem explains this increase by the positive evolution of the operating result (+56% to 1.97 billion dirhams).

The gross operating surplus amounted to 3.35 billion dirhams, up 23% compared to 2021, thus reflecting the increase in turnover (+30% to 9.64 billion dirhams), the press release noted, noting that over the full year, the operational performance improvement plan mitigated the negative impact of higher input costs.

The increase in turnover is explained, according to the same source, by the strong growth in the production of gold (39%) and the consolidation of the production of base metals and cobalt, the marketing of the share of production of Managem from the Pumpi copper and cobalt mine in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), operated in partnership with the Norin Mining Group (formerly Wanbao) (+44% compared to the previous year), the drop in prices of copper and silver metals by 11% and 10% respectively and the appreciation of the USD/MAD exchange rate by 13%.

In addition, the press release indicates that the Board of Directors has decided to propose to the Ordinary General Meeting the distribution of a dividend of 30 dirhams per share for the 2022 financial year.
