Manila Crime Rates Plummet Over 13% in Late 2025, Mayor Domagoso Reports

Manila has seen a significant downturn in criminal activity, with overall incidents dropping 13.08% in the fourth quarter of 2025. The announcement came from Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso during celebrations marking the 125th Founding Anniversary of the Manila Police District (MPD). This positive trend signals a strengthening of public safety initiatives within the nation’s capital.

Dramatic Decline in Q4 Crime Statistics

The latest data reveals a substantial decrease in reported cases, falling from 2,110 in the third quarter to 1,834 in the fourth. This represents a tangible improvement in the city’s security landscape. Alongside the reduction in incidents, crime solution efficiency rose by 9.2% under the current administration, indicating more effective investigations and apprehensions.

Enhanced Law Enforcement & Collaboration

Mayor Domagoso attributed the positive shift to a combination of intensified law enforcement efforts and improved operational coordination between city agencies. He emphasized the dedication of the MPD, led by Chief General Arnold Abad, and all officers working to ensure the safety of Manila’s residents. A moment of silence was held to honor fallen personnel who have served the city.

Stern Warning to Potential Offenders

Domagoso delivered a resolute message to those considering criminal activity within Manila. “’Pag ginawa mo ang krimen sa Maynila, may kalalagyan ka… Ngayon, bukas, sa isang linggo, sa isang buwan, kahit ilang taon pa ’yan, basta ginawa mo sa Maynila, mahuhuli ka dito sa amin,” he stated, reinforcing a commitment to justice and accountability. He further clarified that all enforcement actions will operate within the established legal framework.

Investment in MPD Resources & Partnerships

Demonstrating ongoing support for the MPD, the city government released ₱26.03 million in allowances for officers. Additionally, 20 new motorcycles were formally accepted as a donation from Chiang Kai Shek College, designed to significantly enhance patrol mobility and police visibility throughout the city. Domagoso also expressed gratitude to private sector partners for their collaboration in maintaining peace and order, highlighting the importance of a unified approach to public safety.

This multifaceted strategy, combining increased resources, improved coordination, and a firm stance against crime, positions Manila for continued progress in building a safer and more secure environment for its citizens.
