In a meeting in Milan at the headquarters of the newspaper, the artist presented his works for auction on the newborn online store dedicated to the sale of digital art masterpieces

«NFTs are the new window of art. This is why I agreed to create the digital version of my works». The artist Marcello Lo Giudice, Monday 18 December in Milan in the Buzzati room of the «Corriere della Sera», he presented to collectors his works now up for auction on the newborn Corriere Art Collection website dedicated to the sale of digital art (accessible from here). The Sicilian artist, active on the international scene, introduced the two works from which he created his first NFTs: two large paintings (140 x 140 cm) exhibited on the stage of the rooms during the meeting. It’s about Eden Blu ed Eden Purple: «Strongly ecological works dedicated to the environment» which represent the oceanic backbone and which have been exhibited in Milan at the Palazzo Reale and at the Venice Biennale.

Introduced by Fabio Napoli (head of digital of Rcs MediaGroup) and Marco Capodieci (new business developer), in the meeting organized with «ArtsLife» Marcello Lo Giudice spoke with Paolo Manazza, painter and journalist, who underlined: «In the next years there blockchain it will change our world. Even in art, interest is shifting from the purchase of Crypto Punk monkeys to Fine Art. Contamination between Nft and physical art it will always be stronger.”

The Ntfs that Lo Giudice created starting from Eden Blu ed Eden Purple: two videos in which each work is animated, to emphasize the vertical movement. But whoever wins the auction will not only have the digital version with its certificate of uniqueness and authenticity, but also the real picture. Starting price: 55 thousand dollars (the currency used in the world of cryptoart).

«I accepted the Corriere’s invitation to create my first NFTs, which I believe will also be the last, because it is a historic newspaper that belongs to Milan, the city where I started painting». Besides the two Eden, Marcello Lo Giudice auctioned on the «Corriere» marketplace also six exclusively digital works entitled Pollution, representing six versions of the same image covered in different degrees of pollution; from color they lead up to black. “Seen from above, our planet is blue, but if we look at it under a microscope, pollution emerges,” explained the artist. For each of the six works, the starting price per work is $2,599.

«Since 2010, with the foundation of Prince Albert of Monaco, I have supported the environmental cause», added Lo Giudice: «With part of the sales of my works that went to auction at Christie’s and Sotheby’s, I supported biodiversity and marine protected areas of the Mediterranean». The same will also be done by donating part of the proceeds from NFT sales to projects supporting these areas.

With its birth Corriere Art Collection also launches a project concerning the Nft collection of copyright covers of «la Lettura». A project that will involve several of the artists who have created works for the cultural supplement of the Corriere della Sera. The first is the erasure master Emilio Isgro. Until 31 December, 99 copies of the cover that Isgrò created for «la Lettura»#8 of 8 January 2012 are being auctioned on the site. Starting price 780 dollars. But even in this case, whoever purchases the Nft will not only have the digital work, but also a Fine Art print of the cover, on high quality cardboard and certified for collecting, with the artist’s original signature.
