“Today we have seen both *eggplant emoji* and *soccer emoji* and can conclude that we are having a boy”, writes the artist on his Instagram story.
It was in January that she and her fiance Morten Kleppa (37) shared the news that they about to become parents for the first time.
“I’ve been looking forward to telling you this so much! This summer we will (if all goes well) be allowed to become parents!”, she wrote in an Instagram post at the time.
For the news, she shared a photo of herself and her fiance where their heads are edited into a picture of Rihanna and the world artist’s boyfriend A$AP Rocky.
– Right now I’m struggling to understand that there is actually a human being in there, so I have to take on the role of mother one hour at a time when the time comes, wrote Maria Mena in an SMS to VG.
Shortly before Mena announced her pregnancy, it became known that she and Kleppa were engaged.
The artist then had no comment beyond what she wrote on Instagram.
– Now I have to digest, she wrote.
Mena and Kleppa became a couple in 2020 and quickly moved in together in Oslo.
The singer has previously spoken out in VG about how he came into her life during a period when she had lost faith in love.
Mena has one marriage behind her, which ended in 2014.
